Anzac Day services across the region
Here is a comprehensive list of Anzac Day services across the Grampians, Wimmera and Mallee regions
Horsham Rural City Council
Horsham: 6.30am – Dawn service at Horsham War Memorial, Memorial Drive.
9.45am – Anzac Day march, step off at 10.10am, Horsham RSL Sub-Branch, 36 McLachlan Street, march along Firebrace Street.
10.45am – Commemorative service, Horsham War Memorial, Memorial Drive.
Natimuk: 11am – Commemorative service and wreath laying, Natimuk Band Rotunda, Main Street.
Hindmarsh Shire Council
Dimboola: 6.15am – Dawn service, Dimboola Memorial Secondary College, followed by free Gunfire breakfast.
8.20am – Short march from front gates in Ellerman Street to Memorial.
8.30am – Wreath laying ceremony.
9am – Service in College Assembly Hall, followed by morning tea, RSL Hall, 113 Lloyd Street.
Jeparit: 6am – Dawn service at Broadway memorials.
11am – Service, Jeparit Memorial Hall, with guest speaker, Pam Cupper OAM, followed by march to Broadway memorials to lay wreaths.
Rainbow: 11am – Short ceremony at Cenotaph, including march, followed by morning service at The Mecca.
Nhill: 6.15am – Dawn Service, Goldsworthy Park, Victoria Street, breakfast afterwards by Rotary Club.
10.15am – Commemorative Service, Goldsworthy Park, Victoria Street.
Yarriambiack Shire Council
Brim: 7am – Brim Hotel breakfast, bookings limited to 60, phone 0448 827 353.
8.45am – Service at Brim Hall.
Minyip: 9.30am – Service, Minyip Memorial Hall.
Murtoa: 6.30am – Dawn service.
Warracknabeal: 10.45am – Ceremony at Anzac Park.
Sheep Hills: 6.45am – Dawn service at Sheep Hills Mechanics Institute Hall.
Hopetoun: 6am – Dawn service at Hopetoun RSL Hall.
Rupanyap: 9.30am – March and service, Jack Emmett Billabong, 89 Wimmera Highway.
Woomelang: 9am – Commemorative service, Memorial Hall.
West Wimmera Shire Council
Harrow: 10.30am – Ecumenical Service at Harrow RSL.
11am – March of past veterans and members, followed by guest speaker and wreath laying ceremony. Morning tea and refreshments will be available afterwards at the RSL.
Edenhope: 8am – Moose’s annual breakfast at the Edenhope RSL, $10 each.
10.30am – Service at Cenotaph, Anzac Avenue Edenhope, followed by RAN guest speakers at the RSL.
Goroke: 9.50am – Assemble at police station.
10am – March to Goroke Memorial Square, followed by commemorative service. Screening of ‘Gallipoli’ at the Goroke Memorial Hall afterwards. A fundraising BBQ will be available during the morning.
Kaniva: 10.50am – Assemble at Band Park, RSL Cenotaph.
11am – Anzac Day service.
Langkoop/Apsley: 10.45am – Assemble at War Memorial in Apsley (at post office).
11am – March to Apsley Town Hall.
11.15am – Anzac Day service with guest speaker, followed by march to the War Memorial for wreath laying. Light lunch provided in RSL Hall.
Ararat Rural City Council
Ararat: 6am – Dawn service, War Memorial.
10am – March and commemorative service, War Memorial.
Southern Grampians Shire Council
Balmoral: 10.15am – March, Glendenning Street.
11am – Light lunch, 5 Simson Street.
Northern Grampians Shire Council
Great Western: 9am – Service and wreath laying, Memorial Park.
Halls Gap: 5.45am – Dawn service, Memorial Gates, to watch the Shrine of Remembrance service.
Stawell: 6am – Dawn service, Stawell Cenotaph, then gunfire breakfast in Stawell Town Hall.
11am – Service with wreath laying and flag raising ceremony, Stawell Cenotaph.
St Arnaud: 6am – Dawn service, St Arnaud Town Hall, then gunfire breakfast in Liberty Hall, 6 Raglan Street.
10.30am – Wreath laying ceremony, St Arnaud Cenotaph, followed by march along Napier and Raglan Streets.
11am – Commemorative service, Liberty Hall, 6 Raglan Street, St Arnaud.
Stuart Mill: 11am – Service and wreath laying ceremony, Stuart Mill War Memorial.
