WSDS students have been busy turning old timber pallets into treasures; see their hard work in the form of Christmas trees, dice and Noughts and Crosses games.

“It has been a wonderful initiative - where our students have been engaged in really hard work,” principal Lynne Scott-Brown said.

“Each piece of work for sale is a labour of love.

"We’ve learnt the most valuable financial lesson of all - money is made by working.”

The initiative was initiated in February in collaboration with ‘The GLAD Program’ (Good Living and Development), facilitated by Rev James Wood.

Developing financial literacy based on Scott Pape’s “The Barefoot Investor”, students created a business plan, sourced materials, and have been making more of their items since the August market.

“We’d love to see you at the Warrack Market on the 15th,” Ms Scott-Brown said.

“I am so proud of our students, and it will be an opportunity to meet some of the makers, see what they’ve created, and help us turn old wood into new opportunities.”
