Twenty-four of the best bowlers converged on the City greens for one of the best bowling tournaments in regional Victoria.

In its 29th year, bowlers contested the prestige club's four bowl pairs sets play tournament, which had prizemoney of $3000, the winning pair receiving $1200 and the runners-up $800.

Some of the best bowlers from the Victorian metro, the regional cities of Bendigo and Geelong and the Wimmera played in four sections of six teams to make the play-off and finals.

Players in the four sections played five games to find the section winners and then play-offs and finals.

Gloury and Sinclair defeated the Goroke/Edenhope combination of Hugh Caldow (s) and Geoff Lowe in the final.

In one semi-final Gloury and Sinclair defeated the Beulah pair of Ross Williams (s) and Geoff Roll and in the other semi Caldow and Lowe defeated St Leonard bowler Mick Kennedy who teamed up with City bowler Bruce Campbell.

Horsham City Bowling Club president Colin Morrell said the weather was magnificent over the weekend and it was great to see the greens full of bowlers, enabling spectators to witness exceptional bowling on the Horsham City synthetic greens.
